This means building a real national grassroots fundraising team through our state parties to expand our network of donors. The only way to achieve this is for our state parties to empower their volunteers with low-dollar fundraising responsibilities. Just as volunteers drive major donor fundraising with peer-to-peer efforts, we need to organize similar efforts focused on low-dollar contributions. State parties must establish a point of contact for volunteers who want to get involved, and make finance a part of what they are asked to do. We must empower the volunteers to help not only on the political level, but also at the finance level.
