Strategy 21: Professional and Career Development Additional professional and career development opportunities will be designed or supported for staff. Other Information: Ryerson’s staff is critically important to every aspect of the University. The staff who routinely interact with students across the campus play a large part in their success and retention, and the interactions between staff and students, from the span of an initial admissions visit to convocation, play a large part in students’ perception of their Ryerson education. Members of staff play formal and informal roles in a student’s education, from work within laboratories, to the provision of business services, to the care of the classrooms and grounds, to food service, to CCS efforts to install the latest teaching technology. It is recognized that part of the University’s commitment to life-long learning is expressed in the numerous formal and informal opportunities that are offered to staff to support their own growth and professional development.
