Other Information:

The Community Projects Platform -- Sustainable long-term change in cities depends on empowered grassroots organizations. We're building a platform to support community organizations in this work. Using our Community Projects platform, neighbors can identify problems, work collaboratively on solutions, and successfully see these ideas through to implementation. Public process is complex and slow, but software in the right place can make a big difference. Community Projects can fit into the existing tool box used by an organization: * community members can identify alternative parking strategies for their block liveable streets activists can identify problems with intersections and dangerous crossings in their neighborhood, and prioritize solutions together * community group members can use the comment tools to gather input ahead for campaigns * neighborhood board members can publish meeting topics and gather input ahead of public meetings We're in early stages of developing the tool, your participation and feedback will be essential in shaping it. Here's what the platform currently enables: * Place-based discussion — conversations and issues can be tied to specific locations. * Watch areas — participants can track and participate in discussions in places they care about * Surveys and voting — community members have ideas, some good, others not so good. Use polling to evaluate ideas.
