Departments across the VPS are making space for citizens within their traditional policy creation and service delivery models.
The Department of Health is looking at the use of blogs and wikis to reach more citizens with crucial health information and,
importantly, benefit from the collective experience and wisdom of all health services users. Similarly, the Department of
Justice is seeking to harness the usability and personalisation of Web 2.0 to ensure that Victorians are ready to meet the
summer bushfire season with the development of FireReady iPhone and Facebook applications. These initiatives, and others like
them, seek to create more targeted and effective government policy and services by directly including citizens.
