According to current law, those who invest $1 million in a new startup and create a minimum of 10 jobs receive a green card through the EB-5 visa program and therefore are able to stay in the United States. This initiative is a good start but the financial threshold is too high for many small businesses. Lowering the initial investment to $250,000 would enable more immigrants to qualify for the visa program and expand opportunities for job creation. Indicator(s):
