Singapore Math Pilot ($41,620): SAS partnered with the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, the North Carolina Board of Education and
the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to provide a mathematics training program for elementary teachers at YE
Smith Elementary in Durham. YE Smith joins a cadre of six elementary schools as they collect data and document progress in
math performance in order to improve student understanding of math concepts in early years. The goal is to work with partners
to stimulate interest in replicating best practices across the state.
