In January 2007, http://www.FirstGov.gov became http://www.USA.gov because, according to GSA, it received feedback from the
public that the website should have a name that was easier to understand and remember. Since that time, GSA has continued
to maintain and promote the portal, adding increased functionality and new information. For example, it has expanded the search
functionality on USA.gov and added information on mobile applications available for download that provide access to information
on a variety of government services. According to GSA, USA.gov received over 55 million public visits in 2011 and currently
is linked to over 13 million other sites.
