Previously each report was considered one recommendation. The methodology has changed and now recommendations are counted
within each report, which numbers 1500 recommendations produced by the NACEPT for the life of the NACEPT. Since 1988, NACEPT
has organized a total of 32 subcommittees to develop recommendations on environmental policy and technology issues. Approximately
900 individuals have served on NACEPT in the last twenty years. The Council has produced approximately 82 reports and 24 advice
letters over the life of the committee. The reports have included 1,500 recommendations for refining Agency decisions. The
specificity of recommendations across reports is not standardized. While some reports provide broad recommendations, others
provide detailed, precise recommendations. A simple count of recommendations overlooks this variation. In FY11, NACEPT submitted
two Advice Letters on EPA workforce planning, which included 23 recommendations. The first workforce advice letter included
3 recommendations. The second advice letter included 20 recommendations.Response Letters/Impact of Recommendations: NACEPT
has made an impact on EPA's decisions. The Council received two response letters from EPA in FY11. The response letters indicated
that NACEPT's advice had benefited the Agency and would continue to be useful as EPA moved forward to achieve its priorities
and mission.
