    • The FRRCC addresses Goal 2 in EPA's Strategic Action Plan: Protecting America's Waters. The FRRCC provides independent advice to the EPA Administrator on a range of environmental issues and policies that are of importance to agriculture and rural communities. In FY 2011, EPA asked the FRRCC to focus specifically on effective approaches to addressing water quality issues associated with agricultural production during the current membership cycle. The FRRCC held three public meetings in FY 2011 to investigate this topic, with the goal of producing recommendations to the Administrator early in FY 2012. At these meetings, the members of the FRRCC received an overview of water quality issues and were given specific information about agricultural water quality issues through several regional case studies. The FRRCC engaged with various stakeholders and experts involved in agricultural water quality issues to inform their discussions over the course of these three meetings. In June of 2011, the FRRCC began to discuss overarching themes and goals for its final report, and initiated the process of drafting recommendations. The FRRCC expects to produce a final report in early FY 2012.
