- Mission [1]
- The CAAAC directly supports the EPA's Goal 1 - Clean Air and Global Climate Change providing advice on implementation of the
Clean Air Act. Recommendations are directly geared towards air quality management in the United States.Accomplishments for
FY 2011: The Clean Air Act Advisory Committee (CAAAC) has provided advice and recommendations to EPA on important policy issues
related to air quality management in the United States. These include important reports on mobile source programmatic issues
such as vehicle inspection maintenance programs and updating the Mobile Source Emissions Model. Both of these are critical
programmatic issues and the CAAAC recommendations will help guide us as we develop strategies related to them regarding how
to implement best available control technology requirements if greenhouse gases are regulated. The CAAAC (Full Committee)
had detailed discussions and deliberations on the role of voluntary programs in EPA and multi-pollutant sector based approaches
to addressing air quality. The Voluntary Measures Report was successfully moved forward to EPA in FY 2011 and we expect the
final Multi-pollutant based report to be voted on in early FY 2012.
