In order to continuously improve efforts to communicate with the public and stakeholders, the DOT prioritizes training for employees and customers in order to promote partnership in our transportation efforts. The DOT has prioritized openness and transparency in the rulemaking process for the last 25 years. There are several opportunities where the public can engage with the DOT on existing programs, and the DOT strives to use easy-to-understand (i.e., plain language) and two-way communication when interacting with the public.
