At the 2010 annual meeting of the National Commission, the five subject-specific committees (education, natural sciences and
engineering, social and human sciences, culture and communications and information) met to discuss and offer policy recommendations
for each of the same subject area sectors at UNESCO. The committees also met jointly to offer recommendations for cross-sectoral
cooperation. Additionally, the full Commission reviewed and completed the biennial “C/6” questionnaire that all UNESCO National
Commissions are asked to complete. In all, 78 recommendations were produced and approved. Further, throughout the year, the
Commission met on an ad hoc basis and offered 30 recommendations on various applications for UNESCO programs. The total number
of recommendations for the year was 108.
