- In its mission of conducting foreign affairs, the Dept of State must represent the US before various UN organizations, one
of which is the International Telecommunication Union. In developing the policy and technical positions for its activities
at ITU, The Department of State depends on various interested Government Agencies and representatives from a broad range of
US telecommunications industry interests. Industry advice is provided through this committee. Without this committee, there
would be no vehicle for providing this input in a meaningful and timely manner.
