Strategies: * Strengthen involvement of high growth industries. * Increase the linkages of apprenticeship programs with other workforce development and educational systems. * Expand the credentialing process and increase options for career development within an occupational or industry apprenticeship system. * Capture comprehensive data on participants’ employment outcomes. * Further enhance performance measurement capabilities of the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Data System (RAPIDS). * Increase the participation of women and minorities in registered apprenticeship programs.

It is the nationally recognized credentialing system for skilled, craft, and technical trade training programs throughout the U.S. The Department is redesigning the registered apprenticeship system to address business, industry, employer associations, and labor and management organization interests in improved efficiency and responsiveness.
