The Department of Labor and USTR consider all recommendations by the LAC to be informative and helpful. Each recommendation
is studied and evaluated to understand its strengths and weaknesses. While it is difficult to put precise metrics on the adoption
of these recommendations, the Department and USTR believe that each recommendation, whether it is fully implemented or not,
improves the overall quality of U.S. trade policy and/or negotiation positions. In particular, the Department and USTR want
to address and incorporate, to the extent possible, the concerns of U.S. workers. During FY 2011, the LAC met and members
were updated on the U.S. trade agenda by USTR, and the LAC issued a report supportive of the Administration's initiative to
negotiate a supplemental agreement on automotive trade to the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
