During this fiscal year, the ACA formed five working groups in strategic areas: Modernization and Expansion, Partnerships,
Outreach to Under Represented Populations, Policy, and Regulatory Updates and convened four highly successful meetings. Those
meetings and full committee deliberations resulted in the following recommendations: (1) Proposed revisions to the Registered
Apprenticeship System’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations; (2) the adoption of a definition, framework, and outreach
toolkit for Pre-Apprenticeship;(3) Departmental acknowledgement and commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the National
Apprenticeship Act; (4) the adoption and implementation of a Registered Apprenticeship and WIA White Paper on Partnerships;(5)
recommended strategies on how to develop stronger linkages with the Community Colleges through consortiums, and collaborations;
and (6) Commission a Blue Ribbon Report on the Future of the National Registered Apprenticeship.
