- Mission [1]
- Executive Order 13112 (EO) requires that the National Invasive Species Council (NISC)(through DOI) have a broad representative
advisory committee on invasive species. The Invasive Species Advisory Committee (ISAC)presents recommendations to all Agencies
in the Departments under the members of NISC on a wide range of invasive species issues that are delineated in the EO and
in the approved ISAC charter. This Advisory Committee advises over 30 Federal Agencies and Bureaus in 11 Cabinet Departments
on invasive species issues. This is a representative Committee that has no SGEs. The Committee helps NISC agencies receive
coordinated input from various stakeholders concerning Federal invasive species programs, policies, and activities. The advice
from the Committee helps ensure the invasive species efforts are coordinated across Agency lines and provides information
to help increase effectiveness and efficiency of activities. ISAC plays a critical role in drafting and making recommendations
on implementation of action items in the National Invasive Species Management Plan, available on the NISC website, www.invasivespecies.gov.
