  • Mission [1]
    • The Bureau of Reclamation administers the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Work Group (AMWG). Reclamation, along with four other DOI agencies (Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and National Park Service) work collectively under DOI's mission to "protect and manage the Nation's natural resources and cultural heritage; provide scientific and other information about those resources; and honor its special responsibilities to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and affiliated Island Communities." The AMWG works closely with the stakeholders to resolve complex issues related to the operation of Glen Canyon Dam, mitigating for damage caused by the dam and improving conditions for endangered species with the overall goal of doing what is best for all resources in the Grand Canyon.
