| Description |
For a variety of its own reasons not applicable to the Committee, the agency may implement all/most of the recommendations,
but few times recommendations are not implemented.
|
Specifically, in FY 2011 the STEAB worked closely with DOE and USDA to make progress specifically on Resolution 10-01 which
recommended DOE initiate an active dialogue with USDA to establish formal agreements among EERE, Cooperative Extension Service
and the State Energy Offices to enhance the education of American citizens regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The end result would be a broader-scale adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency practices. STEAB would serve as
the national convener for the dialogue necessary to establish these agreements and facilitate the exchange of information
among DOE, the CES and SEOs that will be necessary for these collaborative efforts to succeed. STEAB would also collect and
provide DOE with success stories from these efforts. EERE approved of this potential partnership and encouraged STEAB to convene
meetings to begin discussing interest on behalf of USDA and DOE in moving forward with this partnership, and explore the opportunitty
for an MOU or formal agreement between the two agencies.
