DS is committed to using taxpayers' dollars efficiently to progress the mission of DoDIIS. DS will use resources more efficiently
by seeking greater mission benefit from existing technology assets and reforming our business processes. Currently, the disparate
systems and networks of DoDIIS involve significant maintenance and upgrade costs. Implementing shared cloud computing technology
and services as well as providing increased crossdomain access to common products are two key initiatives to leveraging economies
of scale to increase buying power. These initiatives will also reduce redundant efforts and costs associated with IT development
and operation across DoDIIS. Moreover, in line with the Federal CIO's efforts to reduce data centers, DS will continue consolidating
data centers to gain cost savings and contribute to creating a greener IT infrastructure. In addition, DS will:
