Our Open Government Plan represents our response to the White House’s Open Government Directive, issued on December 8, 2009. We created an Open Government Working Group and received input from the public and employees. This is the first version of our plan. We will continue the conversation on our Open Government Idea Forum (www.naraopengov.ideascale.com) to solicit your recommendations to strengthen and improve the plan.

We will enhance and strengthen the principles of open government into our daily business because transparency, participation, and collaboration will help us carry out our mission more efficiently and effectively. The principles of open government help us meet the challenges we face as an agency, including public expectations about access to Government records.
