Sustainable development can best be advanced in the Information Society when ICT-related efforts and programmes are fully
integrated in national and regional development strategies. We welcome the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD)
and encourage the international community to support the ICT-related measures of this initiative as well as those belonging
to similar efforts in other regions. Distribution of the benefits of ICT-driven growth contributes to poverty eradication
and sustainable development.
