San Francisco -Technology's Double-Edged Sword -- Aug 3, 2011 -The biggest challenge we face is how to direct and constrain the impact of technology to positive ends only, an extremely difficult proposition since every technology can be used for either justice/injustice; security/terrorism; democracy/dictatorship. On August 3rd, the Hybrid Reality Institute held a salon in San Francisco where participants discussed how to proactively steer new technologies away from evil.
