High-quality, safe and appropriate accommodation and facilities are fundamental to the effective operations of the community
sector and community groups. The ACT Government is working to strengthen the capacity of the community by improving access
to suitable accommodation and supporting, where possible, the use of shared resources to achieve greater administrative efficiency.
Former school sites and other facilities will be made available to established community sector organisations and to local
community groups seeking meeting venues or other facilities. Where appropriate, facilities will be refurbished to meet users’
requirements, and in some locations new facilities will be constructed. Concurrently, landscaping and surrounding areas will
be upgraded.
