2.23: Problem-Gambling Strategy Develop a problem-gambling strategy drawing on international and national research and experience. Other Information: While many people in the community gamble without experiencing financial or other difficulties, for some gambling is a major problem with harmful social, medical and financial consequences. The ACT Government has provided extended financial counselling and education to assist middle- and low-income earners. The ACT Government will develop a problem-gambling strategy drawing on international and national research and experience. The strategy will be developed in consultation with the community, the community sector and the industry and will focus on education and initiatives to assist those at risk of, or experiencing, problems with gambling. The proposed ACT strategy will align with the National Framework on Problem Gambling. The ACT currently funds one community agency, Lifeline Canberra, to provide direct gambling support services across the ACT community. Indicator(s):
