Declaring the objectives of support for civic education enables the Government to have a say in the courses and activities that include aspects of sustainable development. An important task for the education system as a whole will be to implement the action programme within the framework of Baltic 21E, i.e. the Agenda 21 for education for sustainable development agreed by the ministers of education in the Baltic Sea region.
