2.A.5: Export Controls
Reform U.S. export controls. Other Information:
The President has directed that the National Economic Council and the National Security Council review the overall U.S. export
control system, tasking them to consider reforms that enhance America’s national security, foreign policy, and economic security
interests. While the U.S. has one of the most robust export control systems in the world, it remains rooted in the Cold War
era of over 50 years ago. It must be updated to address the threats we face today and the changing economic and technological
landscape.
