Other Information: The Recovery act provides $36 billion for infrastructure projects to improve our nation’s highways and mass transit systems. The Obama Administration has also proposed "investing for performance" reforms that will improve transparency and accountability in the transportation financing system. Specific reform measures include building state and metropolitan project evaluation capabilities, improving project assessment tools, and creating stronger public reporting requirements.
