| Documents/NETP/2: Assessment: Measure What Matters/2.5: Practices, Policies, and Regulations |
2.5: Practices, Policies, and Regulations Revise practices, policies, and regulations to ensure privacy and information protection while enabling a model of assessment that includes ongoing gathering and sharing of data on student learning for continuous improvement. Other Information: Every parent of a student under 18 and every student 18 or over should have the right to access the student’s own assessment data in the form of an electronic learning record that the student can take with them throughout his or her educational career. At the same time, appropriate safeguards, including stripping records of identifiable information and aggregating data across students, classrooms, and schools, should be used to make it possible to supply education data derived from student records to other legitimate users without compromising student privacy.
