2.1: Assessments and Feedback
States, districts, and others should design, develop, and implement assessments that give students, educators, and other stakeholders
timely and actionable feedback about student learning to improve achievement and instructional practices.
Other Information:
Learning science and technology combined with assessment theory can provide a foundation for new and better ways to assess
students in the course of learning, which is the ideal time to improve performance. This will require involving experts from
all three disciplines in the process of designing, developing, and using new technology-based assessments that can increase
the quality and quantity of feedback to learners.
