3.4: Highway Safety Improvement
Continue to work with FHWA to insure States involve local governments in the new Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)
to include the High Risk Rural Roads and the Safe Routes to School programs.The new legislation is requiring decisions based
on data analysis.It will be important for NACE to monitor how well each state is doing in implementing the Highway Safety
Improvement Program.With this information NACE could pressure FHWA appropriately on those states not implementing a fair and
balanced program.
