The software industry is expected to be a leading force in regional economic growth. "New Enterprise Support Organizations" are designated by local governments to develop IT-related human resources. 14 local software centers across Japan funded by IPA are included among this type of organization. IPA, in collaboration with these "New Enterprise Support Organizations", is focusing on supporting the development of regional IT human resources, and the computerization of SMEs.
