Increase collaboration with industry

Measures: Joint projects with industry, industry funding, industry membership on UNU-IIST board, UNU-IIST staff membership on industry boards. Much of the research and innovation in ICT is driven by private industry. Closer industry linkage will enable UNU-IIST to benefit more from these developments and to influence them, as well as identify new funding sources. In addition, partnerships with private industry have the potential to increase the impact of institute activities by leveraging the power of markets in order to reach large numbers of people in a way that is economically sustainable. UNU-IIST will seek to develop strategic partnerships with appropriate businesses in order to increase the quality and impact of its activities and to increase funding.
