4.5: Integrity and Protection of Subjects Strengthen the mechanisms for ensuring the protection of human subjects and the integrity of the research process Other Information: How We Will Accomplish Our Objective: Human Subjects Protection: - Promote education of research sponsors, institutional administrators, investigators, and Institutional Review Board members and staff on the application of human subjects protection requirements. - Promote programs to increase the quality, performance, and efficiency of an institution’s human subjects protection program and help institutions ensure compliance with federal regulations. - Promote the development and use of valid voluntary accreditation for human subjects protection programs. - Develop sensible, effective policies and procedures for dealing with financial relationships in human research as part of ensuring protections for human research participants without impeding appropriate research activities. Research Integrity - Expand education on conducting responsible research for our research partners. - Conduct research on research integrity, including methods to make education more effective, discovery of regulatory standards that work, and identification of best practices that can be adopted to ensure responsible research.
