6.1: Federal Acquisition Regulation

Update the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as an ongoing process that involves pinpointing the regulations that need to be changed, revising the language of the regulation and publishing a proposed rule.

Other Information:

Updating the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) is an ongoing process that involves pinpointing the regulations that need to be changed, revising the language of the regulation and publishing a proposed rule. The public is then invited to submit comments on the proposed rule within a limited time period. The final rule is published in the Federal register. GSA is responsible for Federal regulations covering Acquisition, Management and Travel, all of which are posted to Regulations.gov to expand collaboration during the public comment period. Involving the public in the rulemaking process is a prime example of participation at work in the federal government. http://www.gsa.gov/far
