1.5: Government Policy Officials and the General Public

Promote understanding of Federal Reserve policy among other government policy officials and the general public.

Other Information:

This objective will be pursued in part through the following actions: • Twice a year, the Board will report formally to the Congress on its monetary policy plans. The Board will also seek to improve public understanding of economic developments and policy through congressional testimony, speeches, and other means. • The Board will publish, in downloadable form, data on monetary and financial market developments and on industrial production and capacity utilization to inform the public about the environment in which the Federal Reserve is operating.
