Identify opportunities to appropriately reduce (but not eliminate) diversity of standards and approaches for accomplishing security and privacy objectives.

Such changes may have a positive impact on security, privacy, interoperability, and cost, but should not be undertaken without careful consideration of the up-front costs, and especially the impact on accomplishing agency business objectives. Periodically assess the inventory of approved technologies and services to determine their sufficiency for the target architecture and/or new investment proposals.
