Increase the level of training support the FBI provides to local, state, federal, and international agencies.

Since 1935, the FBI has offered executive police training programs to experienced law enforcement managers from the United States and around the world. These programs include the National Executive Institute, Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, and the FBI National Academy. In fiscal year 2002, the FBI provided training to more than 8,000 foreign police officers and executives representing 118 countries through courses offered at FBI facilities and at on-site, in-country seminars. The FBI also administers an International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Budapest, Hungary and supports a second ILEA in Bangkok, Thailand. The curricula of both ILEAs are based on the FBI National Academy model. Priority Actions: Provide increased training in intelligence, leadership, and strategic planning to local, state, federal, and international agencies. Increase the amount and quality of other training opportunities provided to international agencies in support of institution building.
