The DOT began its FY 2010 RM improvement activities by collaborating among stakeholder organizations, including the OCIO, representative OA program offices, the Office of the General Counsel, and IT Services. We plan to address RM planning efforts from an integrated, Department-wide perspective. The DOT plans to assess the state of its RM program in FY 2010, in part, by comparing it to the RM programs of other Federal agencies. The DOT will collaborate with other agencies and study their RM Internet sites to leverage best practices and lessons learned from those agencies The DOT elevated the priority of improving basic aspects of its RM Program as a near-term goal. The inclusion of RM as an area in the Open Government Directive emphasizes the importance of RM in the transparency of government.
