- The Committee is a unique forum for contact between US industry and academia in the field of international information and
communications technolgies. The Committee provides input on key developments in this field, as well as information on private
sector activities, industry commercial concerns with foreign governments, regulatory directions, and other areas affected
by US government negotiations and advocacy. The State Department has the lead in international negotiations in this area,
and the committee has provided input into negotiating positions such as in the World Summit on the Information Society.
