1: Recommandations
The Committee members represent the major national professional societies concerned with scholarly research and teaching of
American history, diplomatic history, political science, and international affairs; with the preservation of the national
documentary heritage; and with the study and practice of international law. The members bring to Committee meetings the organized,
considered, and focused concerns and advice of their constituencies, which comprise nearly 30,000 historians, political scientists,
archivists, and lawyers.
