  • USGSFor the Department, the USGS organizes, maintains, and publishes The National Map, a set of databases of geospatial data of the Nation's topography, natural landscape, and built environment. Updating high resolution geospatial databases and topographic map images takes place on a three-year cycle. These products and services are used to support public purposes such as resource management, climate and environment, infrastructure and human services, energy, disaster response, and public safety.
