  • Office of Wildland Fire CoordinationThe Department's Office of Wildland Fire Coordination organizes the activities of the four bureaus that manage and operate wildland fire programs in coordination with the Department of Agriculture's Forest Service - BLM, FWS, NPS, and BIA. These bureaus deploy strategies to mitigate the effects of wildland fire and restore burned acres, educate communities that are at highest risk from fire by assisting to develop fi re action plans, and respond quickly when fire strikes. Reducing the risk of unplanned wildland fi res depends on our success in building long-term strategic relationships and a cohesive approach with the Forest Service and other Federal organizations, states, tribes, local governments, and citizens.
