Other Information:

The Department of Energy’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Program fosters public participation and engagement through several features, such as the Public Participation Calendar, online draft and final NEPA documents, Lessons Learned Quarterly Reports and NEPA Document Status and Schedules. In October 2009, the Department adopted a new policy requiring online publication of Categorical Exclusion (CX) NEPA determinations. The Department of Energy is the first Federal agency to publish Categorical Exclusions on its website. The General Counsel’s office can host workshops and webcast to help interested agencies adopt similar policies.
