- The principal objective of the DoD Historical Advisory Committee (and its subcommittees) is to provide advice to the Secretary
of Defense, the secretaries of the military departments, and the heads of such other components as may choose to participate,
regarding the professional standards, historical methodology, program priorities, liaison with professional groups and institutions,
and adequacy of resources, connected with the various historical programs and associated activities of the Department of Defense
to include historical, archival, commemorative, museum, library, art, curatorial, and related programs.
