- The Board advises VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Service Director and the Chief Research and Development Officer
in VHA on the scientific and technical merit of research funding, and the protection of human and animal subjects during research
activities. Recommendations from the Board result in the funding of programs that support the mission of the VA, which is
to promote functional independence and improve the quality of life for veterans.
