6.1: Intellectual Property Protection Intellectual Property Protection Other Information: Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection has separated and divided US and Indian businesses in the past but there is an increasing convergence in the approach to IPR and supporting legislation. There is now a mutual, agreed agenda to frame laws, rules and processes to sustain the highest standards of protection to the inventor or the organization, which invests in IP. The next ten years can witness a new surge in partnership in IPR between the U.S. and India which includes mutual cooperation in IPR implementation and enforcement as well as building a "patents" culture.
