ENSURING THE FAIR AND EFFICIENT ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE - In addition to its own work directly enforcing the law, the Department of Justice works to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans. It applies the law in an even‐handed manner, as all are equal before the law. It supports and trains other law enforcement agencies and groups engaged in making their communities safer. It undertakes evidence‐based reviews of law‐enforcement practices across the country, so that practices that succeed can be replicated and those that fail can be abandoned. In all of these efforts, the Department can better achieve its mission through more open approaches.
