- The Commitee reflects the views of a diverse civil society including the private sector regarding the USDA's National Genetic
Resources Program (NGRP). By representation of a broad slice of that society to include academia, professional society, and
non-governmental interests, the USDA and the NGRP are provided advice on current issues affecting the management of the NGRP.
After the meeting, the recommendations are communicated to the appropriate organizations dealing with the matters. The Council
reviews the impact of those recommendations at future meetings and re-emphasizes its views again, and as necessary.
