    • Grain Inspection Advisory Committee was established under the authority of the United States Grain Standards Act. The committee is charged with providing advice to the Administrator of the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) with respect to implementing the provisions of the Act.The committee is comprised of 15 members and 15 alternate members who represent all segments of the grain industry. They include grain producers, processors, merchandisers, handlers, exporters, consumers, and grain inspection agencies.The committee addresses a variety of technical and program issues related to the grain inspection programs and the official grain inspection system. During past meetings, the committee has provided guidance on the Agency's strategic plan and performance measures and various programs related to grain quality, including proposed changes to the U.S. Grain Standards; financial management; objective testing programs such as oil, protein, and starch content in corn; and technical issues ranging from whole-grain moisture measurements to aflatoxin to pesticide residue testing.
